Aloha! I'm Koa, a Kumu Aloha Hawaiian Minister based out of California USA and operating out of Temecula, Palm Springs & San Diego
I got started officiating Weddings in 2015 through word-of-mouth for Ohana and associates. It is within the last 2 years that I have committed to branding and marketing my services to a wider audience and general public. I was inspired to get into the officiant practice both through my own rough experience with our officiant during my own wedding to kupaianaha!(Amazing!) wife in 2002 and my own spiritual practices developed through the years. I love Love(Aloha), in all it's forms; being in it's presence, emulating it, nurturing it, celebrating it, feeling it. Weddings are filled with powerful Aloha of so many varieties. All who are present in mind, body, and spirit are like surfers riding the great waves of emotion that flow through the day, the couple getting married foremost. This is my experience officiating wedding and why I do it.
I incorporate my Kanaka-Maoli Hawaiian cultural practices into the Wedding ceremonies I officiate. I was born on the island of Kauai, and descend from the Mu-ai'mai'a Kanaka of Wainiha valley. I'm also an Unboring Academy&Pro certified Officiant that has trained in Mark Groleau's style(Love his work). My ceremonies are for couples seeking a spiritual, meaningful yet also uplifting and fun experience. I especially Love to do wedding vow renewals and I also host marriage/relationship retreats and workshops with Brandie Kekoa, my wife of 20+years.
I'm excited to be a part of IAPWO, and look forward to meeting fellow officiants and wedding professionals.
Aloha kākou!(with Love for us all)
-Koa (Austin Kekoa)
